Handle unpaid purchases through the invoice workflow
The reviewed seller instructions describe enabling invoice requests in Shipping Preferences and sending a combined invoice from the Orders area for eligible unpaid items. Some checkout situations, including immediate-payment listings, do not offer the same request path.
For a buyer, the practical sequence is to read the policy, request clarification before purchasing when needed, and use the eligible combined-checkout option shown in the account. Do not assume that buying several cards hours apart automatically produces a discount. Keep the agreement in the marketplace message record.
- Check eligibility. Confirm the items share an appropriate destination and can use the offered workflow. Read any program-specific routing instructions.
- Prepare the charge. Estimate the final package from real materials and update the invoice through the platform rather than requesting an off-platform payment.
- Confirm and fulfill. After payment, compare the paid invoice with the physical card inventory and proceed within the order's handling obligations.
If the buyer already paid, keep the adjustment in the order
eBay's current instructions allow a seller to offer a shipping discount after payment by sending a partial refund from the Orders area. That is different from sending a fresh unpaid invoice. Confirm the correct order and amount before making the adjustment.
Illustrative example: a buyer paid $5 shipping on each of two compatible orders, totaling $10. If you agree that the final charge should be $6, the shipping adjustment is $4. Those figures are negotiated example inputs, not recommended current postage. Record which order received the refund so your accounts and buyer messages tell the same story.
The final package decides the shipping service
Two small orders may individually fit a letter service yet exceed its thickness, weight or card-holder rules when combined. Count the cards and holders, pack the actual bundle, then measure it. If it does not meet the selected service, use an appropriate alternative rather than squeezing it into the original label assumptions.

Example A is a planned low-value raw-card purchase. Before the buyer pays, you confirm the cards, inspect whether the proposed paper envelope remains within the applicable service rules, and issue an eligible invoice reflecting the selected service. The packed dimensions are measured by you; no universal weight is assumed here.
Example B is two graded cards whose orders permit sharing a parcel. Protect each slab separately, combine the package value when reviewing coverage, and measure the final box. The resulting parcel may cost less than two separate parcels, but calculate that from an actual quote. If the orders have different addresses or program destinations, stop and resolve the mismatch instead of combining them for convenience.
Make the paperwork match what actually shipped
Keep a packing list with listing or order identifiers and card identifiers, then associate the actual tracking correctly with every included order using the platform's supported workflow. Do not mark a second order shipped merely because it was meant to be in the box; check it off when physically packed.
If a buyer later reports one card missing from a multi-card parcel, the question is about contents rather than whether the outer box arrived. Your inventory and condition records help explain the shipment. Coordinate any response through the relevant order so a shipping discount or combined package does not obscure which item needs attention.
