The short answer

Not every item displayed in an e-Pack collection is a shippable physical card. Check its transferable status and product-specific rules. Eligible physical cards can be shipped or transferred to a linked COMC account; COMC says transfer into its system is one-way. Achievement-redeemed status is a different concept from physical shipment.
  • A digital image does not establish that a physical copy is ready to ship.
  • Combining ratios and eligible cards are product-specific.
  • Complete any intended e-Pack achievement before transferring away cards required for it.

Read the card’s state before deciding what to do

Think of each collection entry as a record with several attributes: what the item is, whether it has a physical form, whether it is transferable and whether it has already been used for an achievement. Those attributes answer different questions. Two entries showing the same player and design can therefore be useful for different collecting goals.

COMC's transfer guide says only physical cards can move into a COMC account. Its documented e-Pack collection view identifies transferable items and provides a transfer action for an individual card. Use those account indicators rather than judging from how realistic the image looks. If the item does not offer the expected action, stop and identify its status; purchasing another copy is not a diagnostic step.

Keep these e-Pack concepts separate
  • Digital itemVisible in the collection; physical eligibility varies.
  • Physical itemCheck whether shipment or transfer is available.
  • Redeemed statusRecords achievement use, not a delivery event.
  • COMC inventoryA transferred item follows COMC’s own workflow.

Schematic. Original inventory-state schematic; it is not an e-Pack screenshot and does not represent a specific owned card.

Use the rules for the exact product and subset

Upper Deck explains that some duplicate cards can be combined into another parallel. That does not make one ratio valid for every set, subset or season. Read the product announcement and the collection's combining details before acquiring duplicates. Count copies of the exact card and distinguish a base issue from a similarly named insert.

A current official example is 2025–26 O-Pee-Chee Platinum: the September product news describes combining ten copies of an individual fractional Base Set or fractional Marquee Rookies card for its physical Rainbow Color Wheel parallel. Other categories on the same product page use different quantities. Treat this as evidence of product-specific rules, not a recommendation to chase the result or a promise that the resulting card is worth the cost of the inputs.

Check whether an achievement has already used the card

Upper Deck's collecting guide explains that an orange redeemed marker records prior achievement use and that those cards cannot be used again for an achievement, while combining may still be possible. A collector trading for achievement completion therefore needs to inspect that status, even if the pictured card appears identical to another copy.

In the fictional comparison below, the same visual identity does not make two account entries equivalent for the intended task. An achievement can also have availability limits, so collecting all required items is not a reason to ignore the current achievement details. Keep the cards in the e-Pack account while you evaluate and complete the intended achievement; transferring them away can remove them from that workflow.

Review the cart before choosing the one-way route

COMC's guide directs users to link the two accounts, select eligible cards into the e-Pack Transfer Cart and choose the COMC destination. It states that items cannot be transferred back from COMC to e-Pack. That makes the final selection consequential even if the transfer is quick. Confirm the linked account identity and each selected item before approving it.

Decide first whether your goal is physical delivery, COMC selling or continued e-Pack collecting. A COMC transfer does not by itself request shipment to your home. The transfer guide also describes possible COMC storage charges for listed e-Pack inventory, so review current COMC selling and storage terms before pricing transferred cards. Do not call the entire route free just because the transfer itself has no listed insertion charge.

Save the destination record and reconcile the items

After a transfer, keep the confirmation and item list with your collection records. Upper Deck's shipping-and-purchases page identifies Transfer History as the place to review shipments and transfers. Compare that history with the destination inventory rather than submitting another transfer because an email has not appeared immediately.

If an item is missing from the expected destination, gather the source item identity, request reference, linked account and status shown in both places before contacting support. Do not post account credentials or private codes in a forum. Once the items are reconciled, update their location in your inventory to e-Pack, COMC or home as appropriate. Keeping those locations explicit prevents selling or seeking a card you already own in another system.

Frequently asked questions

Is every free or purchased e-Pack card physical?

No. Check the individual item’s eligibility and the product rules. Being visible in a collection does not by itself establish a shippable physical card.

Can all digital cards be combined into physical cards?

Do not assume that. Combining eligibility, required quantity and the resulting item vary by product and subset. Use the exact product instructions.

Can I reverse a transfer from e-Pack to COMC?

COMC’s transfer guide says the process is one-way and items cannot be moved back into e-Pack. Review the selected cards before confirmation.

Does redeemed mean the card has already been shipped?

No. An achievement-redeemed marker records a different kind of use. Check the item’s physical eligibility and transfer or shipment history separately.
