The short answer

Fanatics Collect’s retrieval guide lists a fulfillment fee of 3% of insured value for removal within the first 90 days of curation, dropping to 1% after 90 days. Shipping and insurance charges are separate. Request shipment from your Vault and review the invoice; free vault entry does not mean free delivery to your home.
  • Use each card’s curation date and insured value, not just the price you remember paying.
  • Compare the complete retrieval invoice when deciding whether to combine cards.
  • The current shipping guide and general FAQ disagree on packing time; neither establishes an arrival date.

Is the 3% fee a shipping charge or an early-removal surcharge?

The retrieval guide describes 3% as the fulfillment rate during the first 90 days, with 1% after that period. It does not describe adding 3% on top of 1%. The stated basis is insured value. The general FAQ separately says standard shipping and insurance charges apply, so the percentage alone is not the delivered total.

Check the curation date and quoted value for each card in the planned request. A recent purchase date, an old seller listing or a tracking-delivered date is not necessarily the curation date used for the clock. At the exact boundary, use the rate shown by the service or ask for clarification before authorizing the invoice.

The Vault landing page says purchases made through Fanatics Collect are free to vault. That is an entry/storage statement for those purchases. It also expressly lists fulfillment charges. Keep purchase fees, vault entry and eventual retrieval in separate budget lines so the word “free” does not erase a later cost.

Schematic. Record the inputs to the invoice instead of estimating from one remembered percentage.

Worked example: two cards with different vault ages

Assume card A has an insured value of $400 and is still in the first 90 days. Its modeled fulfillment charge is $400 × 3% = $12. Card B has an insured value of $1,200 and has passed 90 days: $1,200 × 1% = $12. Together that is $24 before shipping, insurance and any other charges on the actual invoice.

If card A later qualifies for the 1% rate and its insured value remains $400, its modeled charge becomes $4. That would reduce the two-card fulfillment total to $16, an $8 difference. This is arithmetic using hypothetical cards, not a prediction that the insured value or all other charges will stay fixed.

The practical decision is whether waiting serves your collection. If A is needed for a near-term trade, an $8 modeled saving may not justify the delay. If you are simply consolidating a display collection, compare a later combined quote. Do not assume a reduced fulfillment percentage also lowers the shipment charge.

How do you request your cards or combine auction wins?

On the web, the current shipping overview directs you to your Vault, where you select the collectibles and choose Ship from Actions. On the app, choose the items from your collection and use Retrieve. Complete the request and review the invoice, including the delivery address, item list and each cost component.

The dedicated retrieval page says wins from different auctions must first be curated into your Vault before you create a combined fulfillment request. Once the relevant shipping invoices have already been paid, those requests cannot be combined. Decide on consolidation before paying separate shipment invoices.

Before submitting a multi-card request, compare the selected cards with a simple manifest: player, year, set, card number, grade and certification. Save a copy with the request identifier. When the package arrives, reconcile that manifest rather than marking every vaulted card as received merely because one shipment was delivered.

Track vaulted and at-home cards separately

Why do official pages say both 3–5 and 10–15 business days?

As checked October 25, the body of the September 23 Shipping & fulfillment overview says pulling and packing takes 10–15 business days after the fulfillment invoice is paid. The general FAQ still says 3–5 business days. Even the shipping page’s metadata retains the shorter wording. These official statements are not aligned.

Use the longer current article-body estimate for planning and ask Fanatics Collect for the status of your request if timing matters. This is our cautious planning approach, not a promise that every request will take exactly that long. The estimate describes preparation; carrier transit comes afterward.

The shipping overview places tracking under the Vault request record on the web and the retrieval record in the app. Record payment, fulfillment and carrier movement as separate milestones. If a deadline is important, check those actual events rather than adding days to the date you first bought the card.

Frequently asked questions

Is the early rate 3% plus the normal 1%?

The retrieval guide states a 3% rate within the first 90 days and a 1% rate afterward. It does not describe a combined 4% fulfillment rate.

Is the fee based on what I paid for the card?

The published retrieval basis is insured value. Inspect the value actually used in your quote rather than assuming it equals your original price.

Can I combine auction purchases after paying separate shipping invoices?

The retrieval instructions say those paid requests cannot be combined. Plan the combined vault request before paying separate shipping invoices.

Does the packing estimate include delivery to my house?

No. It describes preparation after invoice payment. Transit and the actual delivery event are separate.
