Use the league record to establish the season
The WNBA named Bueckers its 2025 Rookie of the Year in a September 16, 2025 official release. That is a concrete college-era entry you can record without calling it a Dallas Wings WNBA rookie. The manufacturer’s brand designation and the professional league timeline answer different questions.
A UConn collector can reasonably prefer that card, while a WNBA rookie-season project may deliberately exclude it. Neither choice requires dismissing the other card. The practical mistake is comparing one as though it were the other. Keep school or team, product year, card number and printed designation visible in your inventory and purchase searches.

Instant, inserts and digital items need their own labels
Instant is a product family rather than a permanent rookie designation. Read the event, year and card identifier for the exact issue.
